The current construction dates back to the 18th century, the bell tower of the parish church of s. Martino di Rocca di Roffeno keeps inside: the oldest existing tabernacle of the Diocese of Bologna. It is dated 1486 as confirmed by the inscription placed in the description above. It is placed inside a single lancet window in a room of a few square meters, which contains the hanging ropes for ringing the bells in double. It is very unusual that the tabernacle is located in a bell tower. In fact, what is now the base of the bell tower was originally the rectangular apse of the Romanesque church. The antiquity of the room is demonstrated by the opus quadratum masonry made largely with sponge probably coming from nearby extractions. The apse maintains its dimensions unchanged over time; in it on the three external sides there were three monofers, the one to the west of larger dimensions and is still open to the outside.
