In the forest, several particularly evocative geomorphological and naturalistic emergencies are found. The Wild Man's Den is a natural cavity, already explored by the Bolognese Speleological Group. The cave is of tectonic origin and has clear traces of an underground stream, which has now disappeared. It has been explored to a depth of 83 meters. Here a particular species of bat finds refuge, and it is home to the typical insects of the environment, such as the blind and completely white crickets. The cave cannot be explored without the accompaniment of speleological guides. From the crossroads that leads to the cave, turning left you can go up to Pizzo del Falco, where you can admire a splendid panorama over the valleys of Villa d'Aiano and the Panaro River. Still in the wood we can admire the Casa delle Fate, so named for the evocative particularity of its conformation, continuing it is then possible to admire "The Giraffe" a natural sculpture offered by an old chestnut tree and the "Scream of Munch" (reproduction of the famous painting by Evdard Munch), visible under certain lighting conditions, highlighted by a characteristic play of shadows and lights on an important sandstone rock.
