The PIEVE ROFFENO dairy is located in S. LUCIA di Rocca di Roffeno, on a small plateau surrounded by chestnut woods; it is said that the monks of the ancient abbey of S. Lucia, founded in the eighth century by the Lombard friar Anselmo, already knew the secrets of milk cheesemaking and still today our processing respects traditional methods.
The milk supplied to us daily is produced by Frisona and Bruna Alpina cows, the quantity produced by them is lower but the quality is vice versa very high thanks also to uncontaminated pastures and air.
We are a dairy cooperative established in 1968 by local farms that produce milk and give it to us for transformation into Parmigiano Reggiano cheese; our product can boast the coveted title of "PARMIGIANO REGGIANO DI MONTAGNA", excellence of the brand and among the most popular cheeses on the market.
